How to play

Overview

Two teams compete against eachother on a court, with a halfway line seperating both teams.

All players wear an augmented reality hedset and wrist sensor that capture the players movements in the real world, which directly correspond to input in the game.

Thrusting your arm forwards shoots an energy bullet in the direction you are looking, and all players have 4 petals that appear in front of their headset.

If an opposition players' bullet hits your petal/s, it is removed.

If all 4 of your petals are removed, you get KO'd, and you are removed from the game for 5 seconds.

After this period, all 4 petals reappear.

Players can place shields, which block the oppositions bullets, but allow yours to pass through.

The team with the most KO's at the end of an 80 second game wins

Chris has made a great video explaining the basics of how to play HADO...

Basics

Shooting

Point your wrist sensor to the sky to charge bullets.

To shoot, extend your arm forwards quickly, and a bullet will shoot in the direction that you are looking.

Shielding

Place your arm downwards so that the wrist sensor is pointing to the floor. On your interface, you will see a green bar start to charge. Once this is fully charged, swipe up to place a shield that you can shoot through, but will block a certain amound of the oppositions bullets.

Dodging

Your petals appear in front of your headset where you are looking. The best way to dodge is to move your whole body horizontally and/or vertically!

Demo mode

We recommend players new to HADO start on this mode.

Demo mode doesn't require you to choose parameters or charge your bullets. Instead, your bullets will charge automatically for you, so you only need to focus on shooting bullets. Players get 3 shields, and still need to charge their shields before being able to place them.

Full game

Players get 6 points to apply to their parameters before each game starts. Players can put their points into 4 categories...

Energy bullet speed

Energy bullet scale

Energy bullet charge speed

Energy shield stock (and strength)

Your handset interface will look like this pre-game.

Before applying your points, the first thing you'll want to do is make sure your headset is focused. To do this, you'll need to look at the oppositions banner, and check to see if there is an outline in the right place. If there isn't, you should press the focus button.

To add a point to a category, you press the + arrow on top of the bar, and to remove a point you press the - arrow at the bottom of the bar.

Once you've completed the last 2 steps, it's time to press enter!
